Big Sean Drops New Single 'Yes,' Addresses Leaked Album and Clears Kanye West's Involvement
Just a day after the online leak of his 14-track album, Big Sean officially released it by launching a new single titled "Yes."
Despite rumors suggesting that Kanye West, with whom Big Sean recently had disputes, might be behind the leak, the rapper defended his former mentor. Kanye West signed him to his label GOOD Music, a subsidiary of Def Jam Recordings, in 2007.
On Instagram Live, Big Sean said: “I’m sure he’s not involved in this leak. I have deep respect for Ye. Without him, my career wouldn’t exist. Since 'Graduation,' I’ve had the chance to learn and contribute to every project, bringing my own energy. I know he would never do something like this. It’s disappointing. I’m sure he would never do this. To the person responsible, know that it really upset me."

Showing one of his decorative plaques, he added: “You see this plaque? It’s for the 185 million records sold under GOOD Music! I have deep admiration for GOOD Music. In fact, they’ve generated more revenue from my music than I have.”
Big Sean left the label in 2021 to secure a “larger share” of the profits.
In response to a fan on Twitter (now X) who asked, “More GOOD Music for Big Sean?” he replied: “GOOD Music will always be family to me, but commercially, I needed better terms! I managed to negotiate my way out of the contract.
