Sabrina Carpenter Matches Chart Record, Eminem’s *Houdini* Climbs, and Bruce Springsteen’s Classic Re-enters Top 40
Sabrina Carpenter’s *Espresso* continues its reign, holding the top spot on the official singles chart for the seventh non-consecutive week. The song matches the performance of Noah Kahan’s *Stick Season*, which also spent seven weeks at number one, but consecutively, earlier this year. Last week, *Espresso* remained the country’s most popular song, while Sabrina occupies the top two spots on the official singles chart, with *Please Please Please* rising to number two.
This week, Sabrina Carpenter also makes history by equalling Ed Sheeran's record for the most consecutive weeks at both number one and number two, with five weeks.

Following the release of *The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)*, Eminem’s former number one single, *Houdini*, jumps three places to reach fourth position. Eminem’s LP also sees two more entries in the Top 20: *Habits* with White Gold at number 11 and *Renaissance* at number 13, bringing his total of singles in the Top 40 to 49.
Although football has not yet resumed, the massive support for the English team during the Euro 2024 final against Spain boosts *Three Lions* by David Baddiel, Frank Skinner, and The Lightning Seeds to eighth place this week. The fans' enthusiasm for Bruce Springsteen’s *Dancing In The Dark*, in tribute to footballer Phil Foden during Euro 2024, allows the song to re-enter the UK Top 40 for the first time in 39 years, landing at number 36. The last time *Dancing In The Dark* was in the Top 40 was April 1985.
The track *Did It First*, a collaboration between Ice Spice and Central Cee, debuts at number 15, making it Ice Spice’s third hit in the UK Top 40 and Central Cee’s 26th.
*Kisses* by Bl3ss, CamrinWatsin, and bbyclose reaches number 24, while *Move* by Adam Port, Stryv, and KeineMusik makes its first appearance in the Top 40, climbing seven places to number 39.
